]]> Tirando as fotografias soltas que vou colocando aqui dos casamentos que tenho fotografado ao longo dos últimos meses, há muito tempo que não publico um casamento do principio ao fim e que não conto uma história sobre um dos dias mais importantes da vida dos casais que fotografo. Mas isso muda hoje. Embora esta época já vá a meio, ainda há tantos casamentos para mostrar de 2014 e começo por mostrar o dia da Ellen e do Fabio, um casal de advogados brasileiros que escolheu Lisboa para fazer a sua segunda cerimónia, depois de se terem casado em São Paulo uns meses antes. Contaram-me que existe uma ligação muito grande da família a Portugal e por essa razão fizeram questão de fazer uma pequena cerimónia no nosso país. Quem me conhece sabe que gosto de fotografar casamentos simples, intimistas e apenas com as pessoas realmente importantes e especiais para o casal e foi precisamente isso que a Ellen e o Fabio fizeram. Depois de se terem preparado juntos na mesma casa, simbolizaram a sua união numa cerimónia secreta e muito pessoal no Castelo de São Jorge, com uma vista fabulosa sobre Lisboa, onde trocaram os seus votos e dançaram ao som de uma música imaginária, tendo apenas os pais e uma prima como testemunhas e que os acompanharam ao longo do dia. O almoço foi na Casa do Leão, também no castelo de São Jorge e em vez do tradicional bolo de casamento, escolheram um bolo Toucinho do Céu. Existirá bolo conventual mais português? Garanto-vos que estava fantástico! O dia continuou com uma sessão pelas ruas mais emblemáticas da baixa de Lisboa e até tiveram direito a serem entrevistados por uma estação de televisão após serem “apanhados” pela comitiva de um partido político que estava em campanha para as Eleições Europeias. O dia terminou da melhor forma no Terreiro do Paço, junto ao Cais das Colunas, tendo o Tejo como pano de fundo. Aqui ficam algumas fotografias do dia.~
Beside the photographs that I post here from the weddings I have photographed over the past few months, I don’t publish a wedding from start to finish for a long time and tell a story about one of the most important days in the life of couples I photograph. But that change today. Although this season is already half way, there are still so many weddings to show from 2014, so I begin to show Ellen and Fabio’s day, a Brazilian couple of lawyers who chose Lisbon to make their second ceremony, after they got married in São Paulo a few months before. They told me that there’s a very important family connection to Portugal and therefore they made sure to make a small ceremony in our country. Anyone who knows me knows I like to photograph simple and intimate weddings with only the really important and special people for the couple and that was precisely what Ellen and Fabio did. After they got prepared together, they symbolised their union in a secret and very personal ceremony at the Castelo de São Jorge (St. George’s castle), with a fabulous view of Lisbon, where they exchanged their vows and danced to an imaginary song, with only the parents and a cousin as witnesses who accompanied them throughout the day. The lunch was in Casa do Leão (Lion’s House), also in St. George’s Castle and instead of the traditional wedding cake, was served a Toucinho do Céu cake. Is there a more Portuguese conventual cake? I assure you it was fantastic! The day continued with a session in the most emblematic streets of downtown Lisbon and they were even interviewed by a TV station after they crossed the committee of a political party in campaign for the European Elections. The day ended the best way in Terreiro do Paço, next to the Cais das Colunas (Columns Pier), with the Tagus river as backdrop. Here are some photos of the day.
